NEUROKINETIC THERAPY

What is NKT?

Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) was created by David Weinstrock. NKT is a corrective movement system that uses muscle testing to manipulate the output of information at the Motor Control Center (MCC) in the cerebellum. This part of the brain is responsible for directing all movement within the body. Much like us, the MCC learns through failure. Following a trauma the MCC will adapt by creating compensatory patterns developed as the result of the pain and injury. These patterns are no always the most efficient and can recruit or inhibit any tissue they need to create a desired motor outcome.

The body and MCC eventually do whatever they need to keep you alive and functioning. This can lead to multiple and larger compensatory patterns being created indefinitely unless the MCC is reprogrammed to move properly again. NKT provides this opportunity to reprogram your MCC to produce a proper motor response.

NKT uses manual muscles testing to assess for dysfunctions created by the MCC. This allows us to correct dysfunctional muscles and incorrect movement patterns at the source. This technique not only provides answers and solutions for compensatory solutions created by the MCC, but can lead to at-home exercises for the client to maintain and build on the session results.

Possible benefits of this treatment include:

  • Provide clients an at-home program for self-care and neuro re-education

  • Eliminates compensatory patterns developed due to injuries or accidents

  • Improve muscular strength, range of motion, endurance, and stability

  • Eliminates dysfunctions generated by scars or damaged tissue

  • Re-educates brain to achieve the most efficient response
